What is Gusset?

A gusset is a folded or expanded section incorporated into a bag or package to increase its capacity or create a stable base. Side gussets allow a bag to expand when filled, while bottom gussets can help packages stand upright. Gussets are common in paper bags, plastic bags, woven sacks, and flexible pouches.
